List of Christmas Movies

Every year after Thanksgiving I look forward to watching all of the wonderful Christmas movies that come on TV. You'll find me watching the old favorites as well as trying out some of the new ones. Here is a list of Christmas movies that I try to watch every year.

Disney's "Mickey's Christmas Carol"

When my children were young, I would watch it every year with them. Now that they're grown, I either watch it with my grandchildren or by myself. It's a Disney take-off on Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol." This one will bring a smile to your face every time.

"Scrooge"

I first saw this movie in the theatre when I was a child and I absolutely loved it. Musicals of any kind are always a favorite with me. This musical rendition of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" can be enjoyed by young and old alike.

"How the Grinch Stole Christmas"

This ever popular movie version of the book by Dr. Seuss is on any list of Christmas movies you can find. Children and adults alike love this story. The story reminds us that inside of everyone is a little bit of niceness no matter how rough the exterior.

"Once Upon a Christmas" and "Twice Upon a Christmas"

I don't know about you but I absolutely love series of any kind. "Once Upon a Christmas" aired one year and then the sequel "Twice Upon a Christmas" aired the next year. Although some people might consider the story a little cheesy, it has all the elements of a great family film. One of Santa Claus' two daughters comes to earth to make a difference and falls in love with an earthling. Of course, her evil sister is wreaking havoc back at the North Pole. The story continues in the sequel and everything has a happy ending when all is said and done.

"The Santa Clause," "The Santa Clause 2," and "The Santa Clause 3"

No one does comedy quite like Tim Allen and the three parts of "The Santa Clause" will keep you laughing and crying at the same time. It's a different type of story in that a human takes on the responsibilities and physical characteristics of Santa Clause every year at Christmas time. In the mean time, he is having issues with his young son who lives with his ex-wife who is married to a psychologist. These movies are great for families to watch together. Here's another great series I can heartily recommend.

"It's a Wonderful Life"

For many of us, Christmas wouldn't be Christmas without "It's a Wonderful Life." This is one of the all-time classic Christmas favorites. Even if you're younger, you'll enjoy the story of a man who comes to appreciate his life when he is able to see how things would be if he wasn't there.

"White Christmas"

Most of us have heard the song "White Christmas" playing on the radio but never realized that it came from a movie. This is another Christmas classic starring Bing Crosby and Rosemary Clooney (George Clooney's aunt). It's a love story with a lot of song and dance action. You won't want to miss this one.

Well, here is my list of Christmas movies that I wouldn't want to miss. I'll be adding more as I find new favorites. If you haven't seen any of them, try to watch them this year and enjoy a heartwarming Christmas season.
